Marketing and Communications
A selection of some of the work I’ve done in the last 10 years
MEGA The Privacy Company
MEGA The Privacy Company offers cloud storage and online privacy and security B2B and B2C SaaS. I currently lead a small team in content, marketing, and communications.
Years
2024 - 2025
What I did
Assisted with market research, conducted SEO research, and completely rewrote the content and flow of information according to the results.
The Team
Hadassah Green, Content and design
Luciana Zamprogne, UX Researcher
Results
3.5 x conversion rate (From 13% of views triggering key event to 46%)
9 x users
33 x key events
Jumped from 3rd to 1st page for key search terms
Email marketing
I’m currently in the process of conducting a review and overhaul of MEGA’s email communications, starting with our onboarding emails.
Here are a few examples, with more to come soon.
Watch this space!
The problem
MEGA’s onboarding email was cold, bland, and outdated. With 60,000 new accounts created daily worldwide, this was a huge missed opportunity. Although it contained some information about MEGA, it accomplished very little.
What I did
Rewrote and redesigned the welcome email, as part of a 30 day onboarding journey, with the goal of increasing rates of opening and click-through, and decreasing churn.
The results
Opening rates increased from 70.7% to 83%
Click through increased from 20.4% to 28.2%
Paid conversion rate of 2.2%
Before
After
The problem
Since MEGA Pass was launched as an MVP, many of the features users needed in a password manager were missing.
What I did
Wrote and designed an email to inform users of the exciting new features MEGA Pass had acquired since its launch, and encourage them to try it.
The results
Open rate 39.3%
Click-through rate 4.8%
The problem
MEGA had around 5000 trail users for their new product, MEGA S4 object storage. In order to use this product after the official launch, they needed to switch to a different account type.
What I did
Wrote and designed an email to encourage beta users to switch to a Pro Flexi account in order to keep using object storage.
The results
Open rate 31.9%
Click-through rate 6.2%
Paid conversions 4.1%

Social Media
MEGA has a large audience of close to one million followers across all platforms. However, their engagement was very low, and conversions were almost non-existent. Although I have only taken over the company’s social media recently, I developed a new social media strategy, focusing on quality over quantity, that’s already seeing results. It has allowed us to significantly reduce the time and money spent on social media, while increasing the metrics that lead to ROI. Engagement has risen by 3.7% in just a few months, with conversions increasing by almost 2%.
New Zealand Post
As UX Writer for NZ Post, marcomms wasn’t my main focus. However, as one of only two people in charge of all the content published on the company’s website, I would often use these skills to improve SEO results and conversions.
Year
2024
YouShop product pages SEO optimisation
What I did
Conducted SEO research and a review of each of the YouShop product pages, and completely rewrote the content and flow of information to get maximum results.
Results
YouShop went from the second page of results to first after the ads for key search terms
Conversions increased by 2.4%
Going global web page
This brief came from the marketing team, to revise an old blog post into a web page about expanding small business into international markets.
The challenge
Help customers access information about expanding their business, without feeling overwhelmed, or overtly advertised to.
The solution
A web page broken into easily readable sections, with a clear flow of information from start to finish. Written in a friendly, casual tone with a focus on providing help, rather than a sales pitch.
Results
The page gained an additional 1870 unique visitors in it’s first 30 days.
Justin Lester for Mayor of Wellington
I worked with the Labour Party and campaign manager Hayden Munro for the successful mayoral campaign of Justin Lester. I contributed speechwriting, blogs, social media, and press releases.
Year
2016
Speechwriting
I served as speechwriter for Justin’s successful campaign for mayor of Wellington. Here is a copy of his stump speech.
"Hadassah is brilliant. She understood my message, and perfectly captured my voice."
— Justin Lester
Social media and blogs
Justin had a large following on social media from his time as a city counselor and deputy mayor. I was part of a team who managed his posts, created written and visual content, and wrote blogs.
Women’s Refuge
The National Collective of Independent Women’s Refuges (NCIWR) provides life saving refuge, care, and prevention to women and families experiencing intimate partner violence. I was honoured to serve as their Communications and Publications Coordinator, a sole charge responsibility which included social media, press releases, graphic design, EDMs, speech and ghost writing for the Chief Executive, and publication of three quarterly newsletters for donors, stakeholders, and the general public.
Years
2015 - 2017
Kids in the Middle Campaign
The Kids in the Middle fundraising campaign launched in 2016, with the aim of spreading awareness for the harm family and intimate partner violence causes to children. As Communications Coordinator, in partnership with MediaWorks, I designed and ran a successful social media campaign. I also helped to write and create ads for TV and social media, featuring Kanoa Lloyd and Bryan Bruce.
Press Releases
Here are just a few of the press releases I wrote during my time at Women’s Refuge.

Publications
I wrote, designed, and published two bi-monthly newsletters for donors and the general public, as well as annual reports, fact sheets, and pamphlets.
Some of these can be found here:
Annual Report 2016
Te Ara Newsletter November 2016
Manu Korero Newsletter December 2016
Although these are from very early in my career, and I’ve learned a lot since then, I’m proud to have helped such a vital organisation.
